Description

a large and heavy gold signet ring, inset with a double-sided cornelian intaglio with armorials below a marquis' coronet, and on the reverse a similar coronet with the reversed script initials BGC. The intaglio probably came from a 18th century swivel seal, and has been mounted as a ring at a later date. The head of the ring measures 1 inch x 3/4 inch: 25 x 20 mm approximately, and the finger size UK - Q American size 8 1/4 and the total weight is 18.5 grams, or over a half-oz., tested as 18/750
